2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 $72,995
The 1967 Camaro Z28 represented the best of Chevrolet factory engineering and performance in a production version that swept the SCCA Trans Am series. The 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 takes that formula to the world stage, besting lap times of Porsches and Lamborghinis alike at the famed Nürburgring road circuit in Germany. At the core of the Z28 is 7-liter LS7 V-8 rated for 505 horsepower at 6,100 RPM and 481 lb-ft of torque at 4,800 RPM. The hand-built engine features a dry-sump oiling system, forged-steel crankshaft and titanium connecting rods. CNC ported aluminum cylinder heads with titanium valves meet hydroformed exhaust headers for maximum flow.
The engine is backed by a close-ratio Tremec TR6060 6-speed transmission and 3.91:1-ratio rear differential equipped with helical-gear limited slip. A cold-air intake draws air into the LS7 V-8, and a functional carbon-fiber hood-extractor channels hot air out of the engine bay. A full 100 percent of the Z28’s unsprung mass is improved over a Camaro SS. Track-tested suspension, brakes, wheels and tires all work together to deliver world-class lap times. Brembo carbon ceramic matrix 4-wheel disc brakes with 6-piston calipers result in 60-0 MPH stops of less than 120 feet. A front air splitter, rocker and wheel flare moldings, and rear spoiler work with wheelhouse liners, belly pan, and rear diffuser to generate 150 pounds of downforce at 150 MPH. Black leather and suede interior is centered around the driving experience with a short-throw shifter waiting for engagement. The active dual-mode exhaust system automatically opens when the engine needs to roar. This Camaro Z28 with just 81 miles on the odometer is ready to carve up road or track on black 19-inch wheels and Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo R tires.
